Operation Support Our Troops

Dave will be coming home for his first R & R on March 16th. He should be here until the 31st. Working 7 days a week, 12-14 hours a day is demanding to say the least! There is always work to be done for our soldiers and he is excited to be a part of supporting Our Troops. The same goes for all the club members who supported "Operation Support Our Troops" efforts here at Maywood. Although you will most likely never meet or see the soldiers whose lives you touched with your generous donations and tireless efforts, you can rest assured they are grateful for your unselfish and charitable donations. Dave has seen first-hand the needs of our heroic men and women, and MSC has risen above and beyond to provide much-needed comforts. My thanks to the board of directors who graciously donated the money to send over 75 boxes to Afghanistan. That is just as important as all the other work that has been done thus far. Dave is anxious to thank you in person and of course, share his experiences thus far. My heartfelt thanks to all of you involved in "Operation Support Our Troops" and you are all in my prayers daily! - Diane Summerfield

DONATIONS

The club is open to donations to defray the costs of shipping these boxes. Shipping is by Priority Mail APO Boxes only and it costs about $12.00 per box to ship the stuff to our troops. We have already spent over $700.00 to send stuff to our boys in Afghanistan. We are still accepting donations to be sent “Over There”. Until we can find an inexpensive way to ship pillows and very bulky items, please hold off bringing them. We also do not need toothpaste and toothbrushes for a while. Bring other items to the meeting or leave at the trap counter.
